Shared City and Japan

Research Project Annotation

As one result of in the increasing promotion, implementation and utilization of creative policies, more and more shared and co-working spaces are emerging in cities worldwide. In Tokyo we can observe a similar development, as in 2018 more than 340 co-working spaces were officially listed on sites as CBRE. In the past most of these small office spaces were used by individuals or small startupsto corporate with likeminded people, to receive support from different professionals and to keep cost down. Yet, in recent years more and more larger companies started to create and/or rent co-working offices to ensure more flexibility, productivity and convenience for their employees.
